Recovery Craft Night, FREE!
April 13 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT
A FREE DIY Craft Class for anyone who is ACTIVE in Recovery! It doesn’t matter what from: just that you are!
We will teach an easy to learn, fun & creative craft (TBD) that’s mindful & full of positive intentions. (I’m thinking an Crystal Grid, 3d Picture w/ optional use of Crystals, making & planting your own Crystal filled Succulent planter… I haven’t decided exactly what yet but it’ll be fun!)
You’ll most likely be able to take it home that night. It’ll make a great gift or a great reminder to the fun you had in a clean & sober environment w/ new friends.
Make new friends, talk amongst ourselves & feel safe & secure w/ no judgement to share whatever you would like. Its not technically a meeting so there’s no one “topic” just some likeminded people building & focusing on something positive & rewarding. Who knows where it may lead- maybe you’ll crafts end up on a shelf in our store! Possibilities are endless!
Class is totally FREE, Supplies & Coffee will be provided, feel free to bring your own non-alcoholic beverage of choice just NO food please.
Donations will be accepted to go towards the cost of the class/ supplies in hopes of being able to do more FREE classes & regularly.
To participate you MUST be 18+
-No one under 18 allowed even with adult
-no kids or guests, space is limited & we want to use the space for those participating in crafting activity.
We do not do any tests. We have good senses & know what’s up, if we suspect someone doesn’t belong there we will politely ask them to leave. This is a CLEAN & Safe space & we do our best to keep it that way. We hope everyone participating respects the others who are attending and the fact that we are all in active recovery- we all are or have been struggling, do not put someone else’s recovery in jeopardy just to get a “free” class!! If I even suspect something- out you’ll go.
We do not report anything. Legally we have to call 911 if someone is in an unsafe way i.e. wants to hurt themselves or someone else, is at a very high risk of relapse and wants help to prevent it. WE DO NOT SOBER ANYONE UP, We do not bring ppl to detox, we are NOT a treatment center! This is a for fun crafting event to learn a new skill & socialize with others alike. Simple as that.
The store itself will be closed and we will be up on the 2nd floor. There is no shopping- just crafting.
You MUST be registered in advance! To must physically call Erin (owner) & register over the phone or in person: you will get a registration number, that number will be your ticket in to event the night of. No one is allowed inside without that number. Texts, comments, emails, messages will go unnoticed with no reply- if you have a question still call. No reserving seats- everyone must register themselves. General liability waivers must be signed before even going upstairs.
Crafting has done so much for us & our own recoveries: it has changed our lives 180 degrees, we’ve not looked back once since we started. We want to share that with others. Wether your struggling, new to recovery, an ole timer and or maybe meetings aren’t your thing (I never did well with them) then this is perfect! You don’t need any experience, just a positive attitude with a “will try” outlook. I’ve tried worse things- LOL.
Come out for a little bit to a clean/ safe, no judgement zone with others in the same boat- learn something new and just have some fun- smile & laugh. It’s called self-care: and we all need to do more of it!
For anyone who doesn’t know: the owners of Cairns & Creations on Main (Erin & wife Dani) are both in active recovery. Dani has more than 10 years from drugs & 2 years from Alcohol. Erin has over 2 years sober. Their business was founded from Erin’s rock bottom. (Funny they end up with a rock shop! Haha!) Being all handmade, Erin & Dani craft each product that they sell & they consign local artisans crafts too. Everything is intertwined and there is a story behind each piece but the ultimate factor is it’s recover based. It keeps them clean & sober & that’s what we hope to share & inspire in others. Not many things clicked & not for lack of trying but this- well this did & 2 years later we’re already here. Living a dream I never thought possible let alone even imagined. The universe provided when we became open & receiving.
Anyways- if you’re interested in attending please Call Erin during business hours, leave a voice mail, do not do the back to back calls if I don’t answer I’m busy, leave a message & I will definitely call people back in order of which messages/ calls were received.
Seats are limited it’s first come first serve.
We look forward to hopefully being able to do more of these Recovery based events/ activities in the future & as regularly as people would want. We look forward to meeting everyone who joins us!
