GR Ambassador description and role:

As Glorious Recovery Ambassador you will represent Glorious Recovery Foundation in a positive light and by doing so you will help to increase awareness of our mission and vision across recovering community and everyone supporting it.

In this role, you will serve as the face and voice of our non-profit organization, build Glorious Recovery recognition, and successfully promote our events and services. You will communicate and engage with recovering community, their families and friends, both online and offline. You will volunteer in events, fundraisers, informational sessions and assist Glorious Recovery Foundation in other amazing activities.

Anyone who is at least 6 months substance-free is welcomed to join our amazing team and encouraged to apply to become GR Ambassador.

Being a GR ambassador is 100% voluntary, we as leadership team at Glorious Recovery will do our best to provide incentives, rewards, recognition and professional development opportunities for your engagement, dedication and loyalty to the organization.

As a GR Ambassador you will –

  • Be the face and voice of Glorious Recovery; invite people to GR page, Instagram and Twitter, and FB
  • Explain that we are not affiliated with AA (nor any other 12 step fellowships), thus, anonymity is immaterial to us. That being said, GR will never discuss anyone’s recovery without their explicit permission. If you chose to be anonymous, we will absolutely respect your position. We are not a replacement of a 12 step program or any recovery program, but an enhancement to one’s long term recovery and every day life’s activities, hobbies, things to do
  • Describe that GR is like any other organization that supports a cause, and not everyone following/attending events is in recovery. (think LGBTQ, many people who are not gay support it)
  • Promote event and recruit individuals to attend the events – it’s uncomfortable (especially in early recovery) to attend our events, thus, as Ambassadors, we need to encourage people, show them unconditional love and support
  • Attend the events – we understand that not everyone can attend each event, but please make the best effort to attend one at least one every couple of months
  • Attend GR Ambassador ZOOM calls – we understand that everyone has personal commitment and will do our best to alternate times and days of the calls.
  • Engage with recovery community and describe GR mission and vision – please see GR home page for details. Four key points to remember: 1) we inspires people to remain in recovery by attending super fun events; 2) we encourage families, kids and friends of recovery to attend the events; 3) we financially assist those who cannot afford to attend events; 4) we reduce stigma by showing the world that recovery is a beautiful way of living and that we are amazing people that were once sick and now are better
  • Help organizing, planning and executing of large events
  • Seek fundraising opportunities and encourage people/businesses to donate
  • Propose event ideas, explore costs, logistics and own some of the event execution
  • Represent Glorious Recovery brand (by wearing swag, etc.) at other local recovery events
  • Establish connections with CT organizations, recovery leaders and volunteer in speaking engagements as needed
  • Always have only positive things to say about others and will never engage in any gossip. We accept people as they are, meet them where they’re at, and always act with love

Glorious Recovery is not a clinical organization, we do not get involved nor have the expertise in referring, transporting, funding individuals that need medical treatment, or sober housing

Lastly, our personal recovery comes 1st! If at any point in time, the engagement with GR impacts your recovery, we will support you in any way we can. Taking a break from GR doesn’t mean lack of commitment and it doesn’t indicate weakness. Focusing on our own recovery is 100% most important part of our lives and you will be always welcomed back to the team when you’re ready.
