Glorious Calendar – all events in one place

So much to do, so many places to be – and many of us do not even know!

Earlier this year, we were contacted by a professor from Central State Connecticut University. He was curious if Glorious Recovery would be interested to work with his students on developing a real-life technology solution for their senior capstone project. Without too much thinking, we said, “Yes, yes, yes, of course!  We have a perfect idea for this project.”  After weeks of planning, solutioning and hard work by the students, we are beyond excited to announce our latest innovation – The Glorious Calendar!

Background – looking at the picture above of a laptop with all these stickies, reminds us of US, especially during Recovery Month.  There were so many events, hosted by so many organizations, taking place all over the place, it was literally impossible to know what is going on where and when. Then trying to remember it all was yet another challenge.  So, when CSCU approached us, we were totally thrilled, and pretty much told them “please, please, please build us a fully automated calendar, listing all the recovery-related events happening around us without needing to search and manually keeping track.”  We’re thrilled to say, these brilliant students went above and beyond, exceeded our expectations, and first version of this calendar is ready, so check it out, tell us what you think and have fun!

Concept is simple – the software finds and pulls all Facebook events from selected FB pages of recovery-related organizations, then publishes these events on our website and BAM – we finally will know what’s going on, where and when!  If you’d like to be included, just send us an email at info@gloriousrecovery.org  with a link to your organization’s FB page.

Huge THANKS to these awesome future Software Engineers!  Also, thank you to CSCU Computer Science department and professor Stan Kurkovsky, we are beyond grateful for giving us the opportunity to work with these amazing students creating new, innovative and very needed solution for our recovery community.

Michael, Nick, Nely, and Alondra – you are our GLORIOUS ROCKSTARS!
